Annual Photographic Competition

This is one of the highlights of the year so make sure you have sorted out some photographs to enter – only R20 per person. Please note that only photographs taken at a Club hike or event since our last competition may be entered. They must also be exactly as they were taken with NO digital enhancements or changes please.

 If you are not into photography, do come along anyway as it is always a fun and informative evening.

 The categories are as before – landscape, close-up & people/humorous.  Great prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. One of the winning photographs in the landscape category will have the honour of appearing on the home page of our website for the next year. For the last year Barbara Cairns’ beautiful photograph has graced the page.

 There will be no braai so please bring along a plate of eats to share. Drinks will be on sale as usual.

Date: Sunday 24 October 2010 (a week earlier than usual because of the Mooiplasie weekend)

Time:  08:00 to start walking at 8.30 am sharp

Cost:  Members - R10.00 / Non-Members – R15.00 (Please pay Joan on the day)

If you haven’t already paid, please do so as soon as possible and advise Flo.  Don’t forget to use the new bank details – see end of email.

Catering is supplied, as follows – dinner on Friday night, late brunch on Saturday morning (when the hikers get back), dinner Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday. You only need to bring your own drinks and a few snacks. The cost is R540 Members and R575 Non-members – this is the same as last year so is really a bargain. Don’t forget your costumes as there is a pool and a jacuzzi. The mosquitoes were a bit of a problem last year so bring repellant along as well.

To keep the weekend fun – let’s stay with the soccer theme for Saturday night. Bring whatever you can, flags, banners, extra shirts, soccer balls and anything else you might have accumulated for the soccer to help decorate the place. And then dress up in your favourite team’s colours (I suppose most of us will be wearing Bafana colours!!)
